Shelby Post 82 Baseball

Shelby Post 82 plays their home games at Shelby High School.  The stadium is named Veterans Field / Hoyt S. Keeter Stadium at 230 East Dixon Blvd. in Shelby.  Please see the map below.  For directions from where you are to where we are, please click on the map.

Burke County

Leave Shelby High School and cross over Hwy 74 travel north on Hwy 18.  Stay on Hwy 18 through Fallston, Bellwood and Toluca.  Keep traveling until you reach Interstate 40.  Go under the bridge and take your first left to West I-40.  Go to exit 103 and exit to the right on Hwy 64 (Burkemont Avenue).  Travel approx. one mile and turn left on to Hwy 70 (W. Fleming), the NC School for the Deaf is on your right.  The ball park is approx. two miles on the left right before McDonalds.

Hickory

Hickory American Legion Fairgrounds - Leave Shelby High School and cross over Hwy 74 travel north on Hwy 18.  Stay on Hwy 18 through Fallston, Bellwood and Toluca.  Turn right on to Hwy 10 and travel about 12 miles to Hwy 127.  Turn left on to Hwy 127 and travel about 6 miles to Hwy 321 North.  Get off on the next exit to I-40 East.  Travel east to Exit 128.  Turn right at the top of the ramp.  Go to the second light and turn left on Hwy 70 East.  Hickory American Legion Fairgrounds is about one mile on the right.

Alternate directions would be to leave Shelby High School and travel on Hwy 74 East to I-85 North.  Take Exit 17 and travel on Hwy 321 North all the way to I-40 East.

Rutherford County

Legion Park - Leave Shelby High School and turn left on to Hwy 74 West towards Forest City.  Stay on Hwy 74 and exit right at Exit 181.  Turn right at the first stop light and go to the end of the street.  Turn left on to Main Street.  Go about 1/2 mile and turn right on to Wingo Street.  The field is on the right.

Caldwell County

MS Deal Field - Leave Shelby High School and cross over Hwy 74 travel north on Hwy 18.  Stay on Hwy 18 through Fallston, Bellwood and Toluca.  Turn right on to Hwy 10 and travel about 12 miles to Hwy 127.  Turn left on to Hwy 127 and travel about 6 miles to Hwy 321 North.  Travel North on Hwy 321.Once you pass Hickory and cross the river, travel about six miles.  Turn left on to Pinewood Rd at the traffic light (there is a Hardee's on the left and a Pizza Hut on the right).  Go to the first light and turn left.  Go to the next light and straight across from the light is a school.  The field is behind the school.

Alternate directions would be to leave Shelby High School and travel on Hwy 74 East to I-85 North.  Take Exit 17 and travel on Hwy 321.

Hendersonville

Leave Shelby High School and turn Left on to Hwy 74 West.  Travel on Hwy 74 and merge into I-26 West.  Travel to Exit 22 Upward Road.  Go Left over the bridge.  Travel about 1-2 miles and turn Right at the light and the field is on the corner.

Lake Norman

Bandys High School - Leave Shelby High School and turn right on Hwy 74 East.  Travel Hwy 74 east and merge on to I - 85 North.  Travel to Exit 17 Hwy 321 North.  Travel on Hwy 321 North to Hwy 150 East towards Boger City.  In Boger City turn left on to Buffalo Shoals Road right beside the BBQ King restaurant.  Stay on this road forever.  When you cross over Hwy 16 the school will be about one mile on the right.

Taylorsville

Alexander Central High School - Leave Shelby High School and turn Right on Hwy 74 East.  Merge into I-85 North.  Exit 17 to Hwy 321 North.  Get on I-40 East.  Take exit 131 on to Hwy 16 North for about 15 miles into Taylorsville where the road ends.   Turn Left on West Main Ave.  Travel about 400 yds and turn Left on to SR 1109.  School on the Right.

Cherryville

Cherryville High School Field - From Shelby High School cross over Hwy 74 on Hwy 18 (Dekalb Street) and follow all the way to the hospital.  Turn Right, staying on Hwy 18.  Go around sharp curve at One Stop and turn Right on Wyke Road.  Go to the end of the road and turn Left on to Hwy 150.  Travel about 10 to Cherryville.  At the third light in Cherryville turn Right and field is on the left.

Asheville

McCormick Field - Leave Shelby High School and turn left on to Hwy 74 West.  Travel west until it merges with I-26 West. Take exit 32B to I-240 East toward Asheville/US 70/UNC Asheville. Go about 3.3 miles take exit 3B to I-240 East/US 19 N/ US 23 N toward Asheville.  Go two miles and then take exit 5A for Merrimon Ave/ US 25.  Circle around and turn left on Broadway Street (US 25) which turns into Biltmore Avenue.  Go about one mile and turn left on to Valley Street and then right on Buchanan Pl.  You can't miss the stadium.

AC Reynolds High School - Leave Shelby High School and turn left on to Hwy 74 West.  Travel west until it merges with I-26 West.  Stay on I-26 until you get to I-40 East in Asheville.  Take I-40 East.  Get off on Exit 53 (US 74A East).  Go under the Parkway. In about 3 miles you will see the Reynolds Fire Dept. on the right. At the next light take a right on Rocket Drive. (You can't miss it. Look for the big Rocket, but if you get to Ingles you passed it.) The middle school is on the right. The high school is on the left.  This is not the shortest route but it is the quickest.

Clyde A. Erwin High School - Leave Shelby High School and turn left on to Hwy 74 West.  Travel west until it merges with I-26 West. Take Exit 3A on the left to merge onto Patton Ave/US-19/US-23/US-74. Turn right at NC-63/New Leicester Hwy.  Turn right at NC-1369/Old County Home Rd.  Turn right at Lees Creek Rd/NC-1368 school is .3 miles.

Stetson University

Leave Shelby High School and turn right on to Hwy 74 East.  Merge into Interstate 85 North.  Travel to I - 485 South/East.  Travel until you see the "To I -77 South" sign.  Take this exit and it will merge into I - 77 South.  Travel I -77 South until it ends in Columbia, South Carolina and exit on to I - 26 East.  Travel I - 26 East to exit 169 for I - 95 South.  Travel I - 95 South for about 315 miles to exit 261B in the Daytona area.  This is International Speedway Blvd (US 92).  Travel 16 miles into Deland.  Turn Left on North Woodland Blvd (US 17).  Travel 1.5 miles and Stetson will be there.

Rock Hill

Winthrop University - Leave Shelby High School and turn right on Hwy 74 East. Travel to Hwy 161 South in Kings Mtn.  Travel Hwy 161 South into South Carolina.  This will merge with Hwy 321.  Continue on Hwy 161/321 towards York.  Turn left on Hwy 5 towards Rock Hill.  In Rock Hill, turn left on South Cherry Road (Hwy 322).  Turn right on College Avenue and then left on Eden Terrace.  Winthrop Park is on the right.

Easley

Alice Mill Ball Park - Leave Shelby High School traveling south on Hwy 18.  Remain on Hwy 18 until it merges with Interstate 85 South.  Travel south on I-85 until exit 40 (SR 153).  Travel towards Easley on Hwy 153 until you reach Hwy 123.  Loop around on to Hwy 123 and travel towards town until the road splits.  Take Hwy 93 and travel until the road splits again.  Take Hwy 8 to the right of the split and travel until you get to the Hot Spot.  Turn left at the Hot Spot and the field is about 3/4 mile on the left.

Gaffney

Gaffney Parks and Recreation - Leave Shelby High School traveling south on Hwy 18.  Remain on Hwy 18 until it merges with Interstate 85 South.  Travel south on I-85 until exit 92 (Floyd Baker Blvd.), the "Yellow Mall" exit.  Go left over the bridge towards Gaffney.  Travel about 1/3 mile and turn right on Pleasant Meadows Dr.  The field is on the left.

Union,SC

Union High School - Leave Shelby High School and get on 18 South towards I-85 South.  Stay on I-85 South to exit 92.  Circle around under bridge on to Floyd Baker Blvd. (Hwy 11).  Stay on Hwy 11, Floyd Baker Blvd, into Gaffney.  This turns into Hwy 105.  Go to the end of the road and turn right on Hwy 18/105.  Stay on Hwy 18 for about 10 miles.  Turn left on Hwy 114 (Bobby Faucette Road).  Road changes to Bob Little Road and then Jonesville Hwy.  Stay on Hwy 114 for about 8 miles.  Turn hard left on to Kelley Road.  Travel 1 mile then bear right on to Peach Orchard Road.  Travel about 1 mile then turn right on Lakeside Drive.  Union High School should be on the right (I Hope).

Huntersville

North Meck High School - Leave Shelby High traveling East to Hwy 74 and then to I-85 North towards Charlotte.  At Exit 38 get on I-77 North.  Travel North to Exit 18 - WT Harris Blvd.  Turn right on to WT Harris and immediately get into the left lane.  At the first stop light, about 1/2 mile, turn left on to Statesville Rd. Travel about 1 1/2 miles to Alexanderana Rd.  Go about 1/2 mile and turn hard left on to Old Statesville Rd (Hwy 115).  North Meck is about 1/4 mile.

Gastonia

Sims Park - Travel east on Hwy. 74 and merge into I-85 North.  Get off on Exit 17 - Hwy 321.  Turn left at the bottom of the ramp and go under bridge.  Turn right at the first light cross the railroad tracks and go to stop sign.  Turn right at the stop sign and Sims Park will be on the right.

Spartanburg

Wofford College - Leave Shelby High School and travel south on Hwy 18 to I -85 South.  Stay on I - 85 South to I - 85 Business South.  Go about 4 miles to exit 5A onto I - 585 South.  Take Exit 25B for US 221 toward Chesnee.  Turn Right on Whitney Road then Left on North Church Street.  Wofford College is about 1 mile on the left.

Chester

Travel East on I - 85 to Hwy 321 South. Go south on Hwy 321 for about 45 miles to Chester.  As you approach Chester, turn left on Dawson Dr.  There should be a new church at this turn.  Travel about 1/4 mile and turn right on Brice Street at the Chester County Baseball sign.

Union County

Piedmont High School - Leave Shelby High School traveling east on Hwy. 74.  Merge on to I-85 North towards Charlotte.  Go right on Exit 30 to I-485.  Go about 33 miles to Exit 44 (Fairview Rd / Hwy 218).  Go right on Fairview.  You should pass Olde Sycamore Golf Club.  Travel about 10 miles then turn right on Sikes Mill Rd.  Piedmont High School is about 3 miles.

Mooresville

Mooresville High School - From Shelby High School cross over Hwy 74 on Hwy 18 (Dekalb Street) and follow all the way to the hospital.  Turn Right, staying on Hwy 18.  Go around sharp curve at One Stop and turn Right on Wyke Road.  Go to the end of the road and turn Left on to Hwy 150.  Travel about 48 miles on Hwy 150 to Mooresville.  When approaching Mooresville, bear right on Hwy 152 (W. McLelland Ave.).  Travel about one mile and turn left on S. Main Street.  Then turn at the first right on to E. Central Ave.  Go about 3/4 of a mile and turn right on S. Magnolia St.  Field is on the right, parking is on the left.

Pineville

Ardrey Kell High School - Leave Shelby High School traveling east on Hwy. 74.  Merge on to I-85 North towards Charlotte.  Go right on Exit 30 to I-485. From I-485 East (towards Matthews), exit on Rea Road (Exit 59) at the top of the ramp turn right. Heading South on Rea Road, turn right onto Ardrey Kell Road. The school entrance is on your right.

Sylva - Western Carolina University

Leave Shelby High School and turn left on to Hwy 74 West.  Travel west until it merges with I-26 West.  Stay on I-26 until you get to Exit 31B, I-40 West toward Knoxville.  Take Exit 27 to merge onto US-74/US-23 toward Waynesville/Clyde/Maggie Valley/Franklin/Murphy.  Take Exit 85 for US-74 toward Cullowhee/NC-107.  Take a slight left at Asheville Hwy/US-23.  Turn left at W Main St/NC-107/US-23 continue to follow NC-107.  Stay on NC 107 past the school and turn left on Cox Farm Rd at the ballfield.

Newell - Butler High School

Leave Shelby High School traveling east on Hwy. 74.  Merge on to I-85 North towards Charlotte.  Take Exit 36 for NC16/Brookshire Blvd and go right on Hwy 16. Take Exit 2B on the LEFT to merge onto E. Independence Blvd. for 11 miles.  Turn left on at Mathews Mint Hill Rd/ NC-51.  School is 1/2 mile.
